Matt Linares

Matt fills beautifully rendered landscapes with creatures, robots and human characters engaged in the pursuit of imaginary discoveries. The inspirations behind these are seemingly unbound by chronology or geography. In one painting a locomotive, lifted from the lyrics of a Glenn Miller song, winds around a mountain inhabited by giant robot warriors while in another dinosaurs wander across the plain as a young woman sets out on an adventure with her cat and bindle. Linares’ worlds are home to an amazing array of compellingly unconventional interactions.
