Keith Carter - Anura Diptera

$550.00

Acrylic on Illustration Board, 9" x 12"

"The Anura Diptera (more commonly referred to as the frog fly) were first discovered within the Amazon jungle in 1926. Little is known about their evolution, but their ability to fly led them to develop similar characteristics to honeybees. While retaining many of the same features as traditional frogs, their rear legs have shrunk significantly, and are used more to grab onto leaves and branches rather than support weight."
