Alex Louisa is an artist based in Brisbane, Australia.
Though it's been a hard choice I've brought together a collection of just some of my favourite Australian birds. I try to celebrate these incredible creatures by capturing their beauty in paint or PanPastel, which by extension is a tribute to the natural world. It's important to me that I bring attention to those crucial parts of our world that could be so easily lost, and I do so by creating these portraits.
I have been enchanted with birds for as long as I can remember. My first word was "bird" and I have been enamoured with the creatures ever since! I love experimenting with textures and effects just as much as I love painstakingly painting each detailed feather.
