Allison Sommers, who lives and works in Berlin, is known for her drawings and paintings of distended, rotting, unraveling creatures (or parts thereof). In this latest collection of mostly miniature works she continues to explore the space between life and the inevitable disintegration that lies beyond. Her intense love of process is evident here as she dives into the minutiae of organic matter in a state of disarray, often riddled with punctures or protrusions.
Each piece in this series of miniature works comes accompanied by a magnifying glass chain.
